Description

This Apple Cider Donut Bread tastes just like fall. Moist, fluffy quick bread is made with fresh apple cider, then topped with a buttery cinnamon sugar coating. This quick bread tastes just like a freshly baked apple cider donut, but it’s much easier to make. This donut bread will make your house smell like all of the cozy warm fall spices as it bakes.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup apple cider
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line a 9×5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper. Spray with nonstick spray and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, add melted butter, eggs, brown sugar, apple cider and sour cream. Whisk to combine. Add in sifted flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, allspice and salt. Mix just until combined.

3. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.

4. Bake in preheated oven 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

5. Allow the bread to cool 10 minutes on a wire cooling rack, then remove the cake from the pan using the parchment paper to help pull the cake out of the pan. Allow the bread to cool an additional 10 minutes.

6. For the cinnamon sugar coating, in a medium bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon.

7. Brush the melted butter over the top and sides of the apple cider bread, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top and sides of the bread.

8. Serve and enjoy!
