Description

This homemade blackberry jam recipe only requires 3 ingredients and less than 20 minutes to make it. The natural sweetness of ripe blackberries is balanced perfectly with freshly squeezed lemon juice, which also helps the jam achieve it’s thicker, yet spreadable consistency.  This jam tastes wonderful on toast, in cakes or pastries, or as a topping for your bowl of vanilla ice cream

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, add blackberries, sugar and lemon juice.

2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook, stirring frequently for 15 minutes, or until the mixture is thickened.

3. Spoon the mixture into clean jars or containers with lids. Seal with the lid, then allow to cool to room temperature. Once cool, place and store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.
