Description
This Homemade Granola is an easy, versatile recipe that is made with simple, wholesome ingredients. Old fashioned oats and nuts are tossed with coconut oil, honey and maple syrup, then baked until golden and crisp. Break the granola into big clusters or into smaller pieces and add your favorite dried fruit or chopped chocolate for added flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup raw nuts (I used pecans)
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup melted coconut oil or olive oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/2 cup dried fruit
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350F. Linea. ¼ sheet pan with parchment paper.
2. On the prepared sheet pan, add the old-fashioned oats, nuts, cinnamon and salt. Toss to combine.
3. In a medium size microwave safe bowl, melt the coconut oil. Add the honey and maple syrup in the last 15-20 seconds to heat up and thin out. Pour the oil honey mixture over the granola mixture. Toss with spoons to combine.
4. Bake in oven for 18-22 minutes, or until lightly golden.
5. Allow to cool completely, undisturbed for 30 minutes. Add the dried fruit.
6. Use your hands to break into big pieces, or use a spoon to break into smaller pieces.
