Description

There’s nothing better than sipping on a warm cup of homemade hot cocoa, while buried under a soft fleece blanket during the cold months of the year. This homemade hot cocoa is rich, creamy, and has the perfect amount of chocolate that is not too overpowering. If you’re looking for a quick, cozy treat to make to warm your hands from the chill of the winter air, this one is it! It only takes minutes to make.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

1. In a large saucepan, add milk, cocoa powder and sugar over medium heat. Whisk to combine. Heat, whisking occasionally until sugar is dissolved and mixture is heated through.

2. Remove from heat, then stir in chocolate until melted.

3. Serve with marshmallows and whipped cream, if desired. Enjoy!
