Ingredients

Units Scale

Dough

  • 1/2 cup warm milk (warmed to 110F)
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour (or all-purpose)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Brown Sugar Cinnamon Filling:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice

Caramel Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream or milk

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, add all ingredients for brown sugar cinnamon filling. Stir together until well combined. Set aside.

2. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment, add all ingredients for the dough. Knead the dough on medium speed for 5 minutes. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap.

3. Allow dough to rise in a warm place for 45 minutes (you can put warm water in a 9×13 pan, then place the pan in the oven. Place the cinnamon rolls on the oven rack above the warm tray of water)

4. Punch dough down and roll out into a 12×18 inch rectangle. Spread brown sugar cinnamon filling. Roll dough up, starting at short end into a cylinder. Cut, using a serrated knife, into 9 rolls. Cover the rolls with plastic wrap.

5. Preheat the oven to 350F.

6. Once the oven is up to temperature, uncover the rolls and bake for 22-25 minutes, or until golden brown in color.

7. In a bowl, beat together the ingredients for the cream cheese frosting. Spread over the warm rolls and enjoy!
