  • Yield: 12 oz (1 8 oz and 1 4 oz jar) 1x

Description

This Strawberry Jam only uses 3 ingredients and can be made in under 30 minutes. The natural sweetness of ripe strawberries is balanced perfectly with freshly squeezed lemon juice, which also helps the jam achieve it’s thick yet spreadable consistency.  This jam tastes wonderful on toast, in cakes or pastries, or as a topping for your bowl of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh strawberries, halved
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

1. Rinse off your strawberries, then cut off the stems. Cut the strawberries in halves or quarters, depending on how big the strawberries are.

2. In a medium saucepan, add strawberries, sugar and lemon juice.

3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook, stirring frequently for 15 minutes, or until the mixture is thickened.

4. Spoon the mixture into clean jars or containers with lids. Seal with the lid, then allow to cool to room temperature. Once cool, place and store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

  1. Storage: you can store this jam in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Just make sure to use a jar with straight sides if you store in the freezer. It makes for easier storing and allows for you to scoop the jam out easier.
  2. Can I use frozen strawberries? You may use fresh or frozen strawberries.
