Garlic Butter Chicken Pasta

Welcome back to another Sunday supper! This week I am sharing a total comfort food, and one of my favorite pasta dishes, Honey Garlic Butter Chicken Pasta. It’s easy to make, takes roughly 30 minutes, and it’s a crowd pleaser!

Sunday Supper Chats

Okay, first and foremost, this past week I discovered this song, “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” by Role Model, and it is a jam! I can’t stop singing it and dancing to it, hehe. It’s funny I actually saw the song on the Today Show. Role Model was performing on stage and said “Where’s my Sally tonight?!” and Al Roker came out and danced on stage with him. So, during this song Role Model says during the one verse “Where’s my Sally tonight?”, then he brings someone on stage to play “Sally”. Recently it has been a bunch of different celebrities, like Natalie Portman and Olivia Rodrigo. If you haven’t seen all of the “Sally’s” you need to check them out. I don’t know how you audition to become “Sally”, but I think I’m going to start practicing, hehe! It looks like so much fun!

Last week I told you I was planning to make a bunch of sourdough bakes, well, my week got a little bit away from me, so I was only able to manage one sourdough bake and I can’t wait to share it with all of you! I’m also thinking of making some fall sourdough bagels. What flavor should I make?

Okay, now I want to hear about your week!

Description

This Honey Garlic Butter Chicken Pasta has tender seasoned chicken tossed in a velvety honey garlic butter. The chicken is stirred together with a creamy, cheesy pasta for the most delicious meal. This meal can be made in roughly 30 minutes and it’s loaded with flavor.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Chicken

  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken breast, or thighs cubed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Honey Butter Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Pasta

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 8 ounces cavatappi pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Make the honey garlic butter. In a medium size bowl, add melted butter, honey, parsley, garlic and onion powder. Stir to combine. Set aside.

2. Add cubed chicken to a large bowl. Add parsley, garlic and onion powder, thyme and salt and pepper, to taste. Toss to combine.

3. In a large skillet, heat up 2 tablespoons olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is heated, add the chicken. Cook, stirring and turning the chicken to evenly cook all sides, until chicken is cooked through.

4. Pour honey butter sauce over chicken, stir to combine, then remove from the skillet onto a plate.

5. Lightly rinse out the skillet.

6. Make the pasta. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring frequently for 30 seconds, then add the chicken broth. Bring the broth to a boil, then add pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. The chicken broth at this point should be just about nearly evaporated. If you need a touch more water as the pasta is cooking, add more water or more chicken broth, being careful not to add too much. You don’t want too much extra liquid leftover after the pasta is done cooking.

7. Turn off the heat and add in the heavy cream, paprika and cheese. Stir to combine until cheese is melted. Add in the cooked chicken and stir to combine.

8. Serve and enjoy!
