Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake
This Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake is moist, rich, and the frosting has plenty of creamy peanut butter in it. This cake takes only a few minutes to mix together and is simple to make. This cake holds many special memories to me as it is the last cake I made my dad before he passed away. And it is the only cake he gave me a 10/10 rating for (he was a tough critic : ) ). So, if you make this cake, I hope that you are able to create your own wonderful memories that last you a lifetime.

Ingredients
Cake
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ¾ cup Greek yogurt
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup natural, unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ cup Dutch processed cocoa powder (you can use all natural, unsweetened cocoa if you prefer)
- ¾ cup hot water
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
Peanut Butter Frosting
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 ¼ cups peanut butter
- ¼ cup whole milk
Topping
- Peanut butter drizzle
- Chocolate drizzle
- Reese’s peanut butter cups, chopped
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add cocoa powder and hot water. Whisk to combine. Add in sugars, eggs, oil, yogurt and milk. Whisk to combine. Add in sifted flour, baking soda and powder, and salt. Whisk just until combined.
3. Pour into a greased 9×13 inch pan. Bake in preheated oven for 32-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to fully cool in pan.
4. Make the frosting. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or a large mixing bowl using a handheld mixer, beat butter until light and creamy. Add in sugar, peanut butter and milk. Mix on low speed until combined. Beat until light and fluffy. If the frosting is too thin, you can add a touch more powdered sugar. If it is too stiff, you can add a touch more milk.
5. Spread frosting over cooled cake. Drizzle the cake with chocolate and peanut butter and add chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups over top. Enjoy!
